This dialog displays severl hints - one at a time as you hit the Next Tip button. At program startup, the next tip available is displayed. All available tips are displayed in the table below for review.

Don't display this dialog again: if you set this check, this dialog will no longer be displayed at startup. Note: you can re-activate this dialog from the menu bar by selecting Window->Show Tips At Startup.

Welcome to PhotoMazing 2.00. To review ALL of these helpful tips at once, click on the help button on this dialog.

Click on the camera button on the toolbar to advance to the next photo sequence.

To start a photo sequence at your favorite photo, click on the open folder on the
toolbar and select your photo of interest.

You can select from 1 to 36 photos to be displayed at a time on the Canvas layout dialog.

If you want to frame a photo without resizing it, use the Stretch Canvas To Photo option on
the Canvas layout dialog.

An active toolbar button will \light up\ or change state when you place the mouse cursor over it.

To create thumbnails, simply select the size of your thumbnail, select your image directory.

To print a calendar, simply select the style from the calendar maker dialog and click on the draw to canvas button. Next, click the print icon on the toolbar.

You can adjust the JPG quality setting to reduce the files size as you save your canvas to disk. Use the Canvas layout dialog to adjust this setting.

When using frames, if more than one photo per page is used, the frame will be wrapped around the entire canvas. If you do not use the stretch options described earlier, the frame will be stretched to maintain the aspect ratio of the current photo image. This may result in excess canvas above or below the frame. The frame is centered on the canvas in all cases.

To start at a specific photo, use the View Image List dialog. You can browse your current image list and reset the current photo sequence as desired. Regardless of the size of your image list, simply click on the desired image and click Goto Picture to start your canvas at the desired photo.

Snapshot file options can be either BMP or JPG. To set this option and the file name for a series, go to the Canvas Layout dialog,

When viewing a large canvas, use the window tile setting from the Window menu to activate horizontal and vertical scrollbars.

Registered users can activate more than one canvas at time and flip back and forth between them.

Use the Apply button on a dialog to apply all changes made and update/redraw canvas to show effect(s). Use this if you want to see the effects and are not sure of what or how the changes may look.

To change background colors, click on the color square on the canvas layout dialog.

You can add your own logo to a single photo or an entire photo sequence. Create it as a small BMP file and select it on the canvas layout dialog as a \logo\ file.

Always check your canvas size to make sure the orientation and resolution is consistent with your goal. For large reprints, for example, a setting of 200 DPI (dots per inch) is recommended.

Use the Lock Aspect Ratio on the canvas resize dialog to calculate width or height in pixels automatically. Simply type in a value for either dimension and hit the return key. PhotoMazing will calculate the other dimension automatically.

It is better to start with a higher resolution image and use PhotoMazing to scale it down in size.

You can frame, resize and combine multiple images all in one step. This can be done for an entire image list regardless of size.

If you want to operate on one image or a series of images, erase the image list first and use the Add Images button to select only the images you want. Use the \Ctrl + Shift\ keyboard combinations for incremental adding of photos to your image list.
