This site compiles complete scores and schedules from the NFL prior to 1966 (Super Bowl I). In the NFL postseason prior to the first Super Bowl, qualification for the playoffs was based solely on regular season records. The first true NFL playoff began in 1967, when four teams qualified for the tournament. When the league merged with the American Football League in 1970, the playoffs expanded to eight teams. The playoffs were expanded to ten teams in 1978 and twelve teams in 1990.

What's unique about this site is that it uses a computer ranking system than can be used to compare teams from different years regardless of the number of games played or differences in the playoff systems over the years!

Use the archive menu on the left to select the archive page that corresponds to the year of interest. Each years winner's name is in ALL CAPS. The loser of the playoff game is in lowercase.
